Plan Your Spring Break Activities with The Learning Journey! #educationaltoys #STEM

As parents and developmental professionals to little ones, we love to share about educational toys and games. Many of you know that one of our favorite children’s companies is The Learning Journey for all of their hands-on learning and STEM products that are so helpful for children's development. This week we received three new exciting items we want to share about: The Play and Learn Monster Me toy, Sing-A-Long Microphone and Match It! Picture Word Bingo!

The Play and Learn Monster Me game is a super fun way to practice identifying and labeling body parts, which is a basic skill littles ones need to master for personal and medical needs. We also love that this toy allows parents to practice identification of an object from a set of familiar pictures and offers many ways to target expressive language skills as well. Consider using adjectives to describe the body parts, formulate sentences to ask for pieces or state what piece the child has, and practice the preposition 'in', just to name a few ideas! Recommended for ages 2-5 years.

Our little one loves this Sing-A-Long Microphone! It has really motivated him to produce vocalizations throughout the day as he moves through the babbling stage. It features six melodies, voice changer mode, record mode, and playback mode, just to name a few. The confidence we see in our child as he chatters away is priceless. The microphone requires three “AA” batteries, which are included. Recommended for ages 1-3 years.

Match It! Picture Word Bingo
is a fast favorite in our pediatric clinic. We are such fans of the Match It! line because it always helps us to target basic concepts in a really fun way. The kids enjoy practicing vocabulary words in this game-style format and we often see their expressive communication skills develop faster because they are applying them in a play-based setting with their own motivation to learn. This set is recommended for ages 3+ and we highly recommend checking out their entire collection of Match It! sets for educational game play.

With spring break coming up, it's the perfect time to start planning educational activities for your children and The Learning Journey is a very valuable resource to consider for just about any age!
