Dirty Birdies - This board book by Jennifer Sattler is adorable! It begins with one curious birdie who gets very dirty, and follows along as new bird friends are introduced. All of these birds get into trouble in different ways, becoming quite literally 'dirty birdies'! It's a fun way to teach little ones how to count from one to five, with many giggles along the way. The illustrations are bright and engaging and the book itself is very solidly made. We love this book for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
One Red Sock - This board book has become a fast family favorite. It's such a fantastic story that teaches colors and utilizes rhyming as it tells a story about a hippo looking for the correct sock. We won't ruin the ending for you, but it's definitely worth a laugh. We like that this book targets the basic concept of colors, as well as rhyming, which contributes to development of foundational reading skills.
Oink! Oink! Moo! Cock-a-Doodle-Doo! - Animal sounds are one of the first ways children begin to develop language. We call them 'environmental sounds' and they are an important step on the way to talking. This board book introduces animal sounds in a fun way, as nine different animals make sounds and perform an action, from dancing to reading, to riding a bike and more. It's a really engaging way for children to imitate sounds and identify action words.
