2022 Holiday Gift Guide: Celebrate Reading this Season with Kane Miller Books!

When You Joined Our Family - As an adoptive family, this book was a tear jerker for us. The way Harriet Evans finds the perfect words to celebrate adoption and all kinds of families is so heartwarming. We love that the families depicted in the book were incredibly diverse and that she even addresses this with her words. It spreads the message of acceptance, love, diversity and family in such a beautiful way. Even the illustrations by Nia Tudor are inviting. Consider gifting this book to your child's school classroom as well to diversify their reading library.

Don't Forget - If ever you were looking for a book that will leave you feeling love and mindfulness, this book by Jane Godwin is it. We won't spoil the ending for you, but it was just about the sweetest thing we could have expected. You just want to squeeze your kids tight when you're finished reading! We love that it starts out light-hearted and really builds into the idea of self-worth. It's no wonder it was created by an award-winning creative team. The art throughout this book is by illustrator Anna Walker. It's so gorgeous, as the watercolor illustrations add a soft, expressive touch. We love this book and know you will, too!

Little Waves - Our little guy loves books...both to look at and to chew on. You guessed it, we are still in the cloth book stage with him. Little Waves, written by Susie Brooks and illustrated by Wendy Kendall, is such a fun little book for him to touch as we talk about the animals and act out their sounds or movements. He's thrilled when he gets to have a book in his hands to explore in any way he chooses—even if it means taking a bite or two! The illustrations are bright and inviting, the rhyming text is fun to read together, and the snap carry handle makes it the perfect grab-n-go book for trips. It's a great choice for infants this holiday season.

See a Rainbow - The unique shape of this book's edges is just the beginning of the fun author Annabel Blackledge and illustrator Anne Passchier have created! The colors and illustrations are very engaging and our little one gets excited each time we turn the page. It's a fun way to begin introducing pre-literacy skills as well as the basic concept of colors. We love how sturdy the book is, too!

My First 100 Words Set - This book set is so different than anything we've come across. Open up the case and inside you'll find nine mini-books of specific categories for kids to take out and explore. The mini books range from foods to animals to people and more. The thick board book material makes them especially durable and sturdy for toddlers. The case itself can even be used as a matching game!
