It's the perfect game for kids who are just starting to learn to read because it provides a fun and motivating experience with sounds, letters, and words that helps promote a love for literacy. No surprise, this game was developed with teachers and world-leading literacy experts, so you know it's good!
About the Game
The Blah Blah Blah Phonics Card Game allows kids to practice decoding words in a game-style format. It includes over 200+ word cards within three decks of cards that each correspond with a different level (teal is easy, purple is medium, and pink is hard), so you can adjust the level to the abilities of the younger players in the group. If they need extra help, there's even a QR code that can be scanned with your phone to provide pronunciation! The idea of the game is to practice decoding while racing to get rid of cards by matching sounds and letters (over 40 key sound-letter correspondences in all). An exciting way to increase phonics skills that's sure to bring laughs and build memories with the whole family! The recommended age for this game is 4+.
How to Play
'Every card features a word consisting of three letters (or groups of letters). Each player takes seven cards. One card is placed face-up on the table with the rest of the deck in a pile, face-down. Players must play a card from their hand that contains at least one of the letters that are in the word on the table. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins. But beware! Chaos cards hidden in the deck can force you to skip your turn or draw more cards.
