Step 1: Make a list of what you're looking for in a camera. Just about every camera on the market today offers a decent view of the room, but nowadays, they can do so much more. - High Standard Security & Privacy: Multilayer security and end-to-end video encryption keep stored and live video safe. To ensure the camera is off when you don't want to use it, a privacy mask visually confirms that audio/video recording and live viewing are off.
- Free Cloud and Local Storage: Access your video content and history anytime. EZVIZ highly suggests using 128 GB (131,072MB) microSD card if you are looking to store one month of motion detection recording. EZVIZ also offers a free (optional) 30 day trial to their CloudPlay service, which includes a 7-day cloud recording and 2-minute daily recap.
Step 2: Decide how much you are willing to spend. Security cameras run the gamut as far as pricing is concerned. Some connect to your local alarm company and police department to alert them of break-ins. These are usually pretty costly whole-home systems and require a substantial monthly fee. As far as stand alone cameras and self-installation camera systems go, virtually everyone can find something to fit their budget, often avoiding any monthly fee at all. The EZVIZ Mini 360 Plus does not require a fee unless you purchase the CloudPlay service. With the quality and amount of features that this camera offers, we find it to be one of the higher quality options in its price range.
Step 3: Consider installation requirements. You'd be surprised how many security cameras require a more complex installation process than most homeowners are looking for. Short of a company-installed system, I don't think it's worth cutting into our walls and feeding wires through them when there are plenty of cameras that require little more than a plug and an outlet. The EZVIZ Mini 360 Plus uses a power cord and can sit on any countertop or it can be mounted onto the wall or ceiling.
Finding the right security camera make take a little extra time, but it's completely worth it to have the piece of mind you're looking for.
