Sensory Sensitive Sundays at Chuck E. Cheese #autism #specialneeds #CEC #sensoryfriendly
As a cause near and dear to our hearts, we are thrilled to learn that Chuck E. Cheese's® and Center for Autism and Related Disorders™ (CARD) have created Sensory Sensitive Sundays across the U.S. and Canada. This program aims to provide children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other special needs the opportunity to experience the fun of visiting Chuck E. Cheese's in a sensory-friendly environment. This is a fantastic initiative for families who have children with autism and special needs and a great way to show community support.
Beginning April 2, this sensory-friendly experience will be offered on the first Sunday of every month. Chuck E. Cheese has specially trained their caring staff to make sure each guest enjoys their visit. The restaurant will open two hours earlier than normal for the sensory-sensitive program, providing families in the autism community the opportunity to enjoy Chuck E. Cheese's with smaller crowds, lighting and noise modifications, and limited appearances of costumed characters, all of which makes for an environment more suitable for children who face sensory challenges.
Sensory Sensitive Sundays Benefits: 1. Dimmed lighting 2. Less crowding and noise 3. Food and games are offered 4. Limited appearances by Chuck E. 5. Show and music turned off or down
Sensory Sensitive Sundays will take place on the first Sunday of every month beginning Sunday, April 2, followed by May 7, June 4, July 2, etc.
