Review: GoLeanSixSigma.com #goleansixsigma.com #managementconsulting #processanalysis

GoLeanSixSigma.com is a web-based company that practices what it preaches. Namely, the course work needed to achieve its process analysis belt certifications are all self-paced, applying the principles of Lean and Six Sigma applications to itself, which makes TOTAL SENSE. One of the chief complaints people have with professional training programs is that they require days or weeks away from work. This self-paced training on the other hand, is streamlined. The onus is on the student to maximize personal effort. It requires you to read the material, ask any clarification questions needed, and apply the knowledge to the test. Minimize your own waste!

The company has a solid reputation. Accredited by the Better Business Bureau, its curriculum was developed by management professionals with experience at Amazon, Blue Cross Blue Shied, Charles Schwab, Comcast, Disney, Target, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts. The website is incredibly useful, with FAQs, videos, templates, glossaries for both Lean and Six Sigma terms, and a training curriculum for White, Yellow, Green, and Black Belts. As an easy test, both the White and Yellow Belt tests are freely available. (The actual physical certificates are purchased separately. For the other belts the certificate cost is included in the course price.) These are both excellent self-checks for any on-the-job experience and training received at work with Green and Black Belts.

The courses and certifications are fairly priced, ranging up to $999 for a Black Belt. For groups, discounts are available depending on number of participants. Additionally, the company offers discounts to non-profits, government agencies, and students.

The Blog portion of the website does a very smart thing, and has posts applying Lean principles to home life. 'Cause a good idea is a good idea, whether at work or not. For instance:

lt is so refreshing to find a company offering such a robust background for its training and certification.

  1. That's a good discount from the regular price.

  2. Students need all the help they can get so it's nice to see there are discounts in place for them.

  3. I really love how they give you pointers on how to be lean day to day. That type of information is so helpful.
