About the Book
The structured of this book is so handy and easy to use. It includes a nutrition overview, an explanation of proper kitchen tools, the steps to making a smoothie properly, and which ingredients you need depending on the type of breast cancer you have and how to purchase, prep and store them. Then it jumps into the actual recipes, which I'm finding so good as I work my way through the book. Daniella emphasizes specific ingredients based on research related to each type of cancer and has organized it in such an easily digestible way that I was able to take the book with me to the store, load up my cart with what she recommends and start making my smoothies right away.
Favorite Recipes
If you're anything like me, you'll find that you like each smoothie better than the last! It's hard to choose a favorite, but I generally like all things berry. My current favorite is the Wild Blueberry Banana smoothie with green tea, tumeric and lemon juice. It calls for hemp seeds as well, but our grocery stores are barely stocked after Hurricane Ian rolled through, so I'm happy to have found what I did. It will be even better when I can add the hemp seed to increase inflammatory benefits. I recommend trying some of the combinations that are a little outside the box as well (Watermelon and tomato? Delicious!) You may be surprised to find you like quite a few combinations you've never considered before.
Overall, I've found a lot of comfort in taking control of my diet in a research-based way and recommend this book to anyone you know with an unfortunate breast cancer diagnosis. It's a great idea for prophylactic use as well!
