The holidays are upon us and this year we're giving books from the popular series that the kids in our family love: Goosebumps by R.L. Stine! This series has become a rite of passage in our family. My husband and I used to read them when we were young, so it's pretty cool to see that Goosebumps books are still in such high demand. It's been a fantastic motivator for the reluctant readers in our family. They've expanded to quite a few spooky collections, too. This season, we've chosen books from the Goosebumps: Hall of Horrors collection that are sure to be a hit.

This story starts out with good intentions when Mickey and Amanda agree to pet sit for the neighbor. Things take a turn when they try to cover up a mistake and the cat becomes more than it seemed to be!
We found this story especially fun. Magic tricks turn things topsy-turvy as pay-back goes awry! What starts out as an innocent prank Ava and Courtney plan to get back at Steven turns into a potion disaster that causes him to shrink. How will these three ever find a way to return Steven to normal size again?
Goosebumps Hall of Horrors #4: Why I Quit Zombie School
If the children in your family are part of the zombie craze, they'll love this book. The main character, Matt, is shipped off to boarding school...which turns out to be full of zombies! Matt will need to find a way to convince his classmates that he is undead long enough to stay alive.
