SodaStream for the Holidays!

We are happy to say that the people of SodaStream allowed us to try their products and review them for our readers just in time for the holiday season. We have been really intrigued by the SodaStream machine, so giving it a try was really exciting to us. My husband loves all things customizable, so this is totally up his alley. We had a lot of fun creating new drinks and having the ability to modify them to our individual tastes.

Snaps on and off to insert
the CO2 bottle
This SodaStream is not complicated at all. Loading the CO2 bottle in the back of the machine is simple. Everything snaps and twists into place and assembly took less than a minute. I'm such a fan of simple, easy instructions!

When the SodaStream and flavor bottles arrived, we were amazed to see how many different flavors and combinations you can make with this machine! Since we had visitors this weekend, we thought it would be really fun to create a soda sampler that each person could try and give their opinions.

Soda mix flavors we used:
  • Cola
  • Black Currant and Pear-This was a HUGE hit all around! It's so delicious!
  • Ginger Ale
  • Root Beer-One of our friends decided that this tastes better than A&W root beer. Big compliment!
  • Cranberry-raspberry-Second runner up, very popular and sweet
  • Cola Free
  • Diet Pink Grapefruit-This one is my own, personal favorite
  • Diet Lemon-lime-reminded us of a middle ground between 7Up and Sierra Mist
  • Energy Drink-similar to Red Bull
Flavor Essence flavors we used:
  • Orange
  • Raspberry
  • Lemon-lime
We tried one recipe from the Soda Stream website as well. It was so sweet and so good:
Fruit Fizz6 oz. SodaStream Diet Pink Grapefruit
6 oz. SodaStream Diet Cranberry-Raspberry
Orange slice

Each flavor was liked by everyone, with some obvious favorites noted above. The SodaStream Machine was a big hit and I'm sure it's going to show up in our friends' homes during the holidays. We really like being able to mix and match flavors and add more or less of the flavor based on our own tastes. The one thing I would definitely recommend, (especially if you are trying to do tastings as we did) is to get a couple of extra water bottles so that you can make and save more of the soda at one time. Clean up was a breeze when we were finished taste-testing each flavor.

If you're looking to get really creative, SodaStream has some phenomenal recipes on their website. The Tart and Tiny would be really chic for an upcoming holiday party!
