Recipe: Apple and Sweet Potato Casserole


After the holidays we end up with random leftovers that need to be used before they go bad. One of our favorite recipes to make is the apple and sweet potato casserole. It's always a good bet that we'll have at least a half a bag or more of these ingredients left in our kitchen, and all it takes is a little butter and brown sugar to make it a delicious dish! Who doesn't love recipes that require so few ingredients? Check it out below...



Ingredients
  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into chips
  • 4 apples, peeled and sliced into chips
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar


Directions

  1. Boil sweet potato slices.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  3. Grease casserole dish with cooking spray.
  4. Layer potatoes, dotting with butter.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of layer.
  6. Layer sliced apples, dotting with butter.
  7. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
  8. Repeat layers.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
