Melt Gourmet Burger #7thBestBurgerInUSA

We were in Leesburg, VA for some scenery and shopping and decided to hit up Melt, the gourmet cheeseburger diner. Apparently, they are the 7th Best Burger joint in these United States, according to TripAdvisor. I went for the Veggie for about $9 while the hubby opted for the specialty: Fire Roasted Green Chile Cheeseburger for $13.  Lots of rave reviews about the Lamb Burger online, but I just wasn’t feeling it.
Suffice to say, both were a win!  You know how most veggie burgers can be a messy, fall apart, let down?  Melt has it down and if I hadn’t known I’d swear it was meat. It even stuck together!
The green chile monster was not quite spicy enough for my husband (not their fault; he almost never finds food spicy enough) but very tasty, nonetheless.  And the bacon strips were thick and juicy.  It’s fairly normal for me to grab a doggie bag, but when my husband can’t finish a burger and has to take it home, that’s a solid sign of awesome portion size.  Each burger could probably be two dinners, or perhaps three lunches, depending on how hungry you are.  To drive home the point, we both took our burgers home and neither one of us ordered fries. Yeah, huge.
The main downside of the place is its small size relative to its popularity.  As you walk in there a few tables inside and a few outside, all of which were full. We ordered, grabbed our number, and waited at the counter seating for them to deliver the food.  Another plus for Melt: everything is made to order fresh. Definitely worth the visit!

  1. I've heard of Melt, but haven't visited yet. It sounds good that everything is fresh and probably a great place to people watch since it is so busy. My 5 year old LOVES crowded places to eat. It's funny because he is usually so energetic, but if we go somewhere crowded, he quietly eats his food and watches all of the people. We try to go to popular places that are crowded because we know that he'll be on good behavior.

    1. This place would definitely keep him occupied! It was packed when we were there on a random week night.
