Review: Purex PowerShot...Giveaway!

We just found out the Purex has come out with a new, super-concentrated laundry detergent called Purex PowerShot™ that seems to be getting some great press lately. It’s supposed to be in stores in the early part of 2015 and while we haven’t seen it on the shelves yet, we were really excited to find it on our doorstep for review.

Let’s talk facts:
One dose of it can clean a normal size load (about 6 pounds of dry laundry). For heavy loads, use two doses. This detergent works great on all water temperature settings, so no worries on using it with the cold cycle. For those of you that are careful about the effects of certain detergents on septic tanks, you’ll be happy to know that Purex has noted this variety as completely save on septic tanks!

The Perks of Purex PowerShot™:

Auto-dosing technology does the measuring for you
No guesswork and no mess makes doing laundry easier
Super-concentrated formula with 50% more stain fighting power per drop vs regular Purex liquid detergent

So How Does This New Design Work?
First Use Only: FLIP bottle with lid closed to ensure a full first dose. Bottle should be completely upside down to fill the Purex® PowerShot™ engine inside. RETURN bottle upright.

  1. OPEN the lid while pointing away from face.
  2. FLIP bottle completely upside down to pour Purex® PowerShot™ directly into the washing machine or dispensing tray. One super-concentrated PowerShot equals one regular load.
  3. The Purex® PowerShot™ engine automatically REFILLS, so it’s ready for the next load.
For best results: Use one dose for regular loads, and two doses for large or heavily soiled loads.

What We Noticed:
The new design is incredibly easy to use and it wasn’t messy in the least. My husband was happy with the fragrance, which is a very big plus in this house. It’s not too over-powering, but still leaves a fresh smell. We used the PowerShot on a load of whites in hot water, a load of colors in cold, and a heavy load with two doses of detergent. The result was three loads of stain-free, fresh smeilling piles of clothing. Even the gym clothes came up roses.

  1. I could use this Purex detergent! My little boy seems to have his mind set on playing in the sandbox at school every day and finding water to pour into the sand. I started having him wear crocs so that I am able to clean his shoes easily, but his pants are a lost cause. Just need a good detergent!
