Tribes-A-Dozen: Voila! Hallah All Natural Egg Bread Mixes

If you're a fellow bread lover, you may be especially interested in the product my family tried this weekend. Tribes-A-Dozen allowed us to review three of their all natural, kosher bread mixes and I can't adequately describe how amazing my house has smelled over the past three days! There's no way anyone would guess this bread came from a box.

I've been eager to try this bread because Tribes-A-Dozen is located right here in Washington, DC. As an added point in its favor, it's a woman owned company. Here's a bit about the company's vision:

"We keep it simple so you can bake these all natural, traditional breads to share fresh with friends and loved ones, and make every meal special. Hallah made easy, no one will guess it came from a mix because it tastes just like from scratch," says Leah Hadad, Founder & President, Tribes-A-Dozen. She adds, "that is why our motto is 'Break Bread, Not Tradition."

Voila! Hallah Egg Bread Mixes:

Traditional Egg Bread: We used this to make French toast-AMAZING! It added a little sweetness and thicker texture to the bread. I'd recommend it for a big weekend breakfast with family or friends!
Ingredients: Unbleached unenriched wheat flour, unbleached and enriched wheat flour (niacin, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, folic acid, malted barley flour), turbinado sugar, sea salt, and organic flavor.

Simply Spelt: The hint of honey in every bite made this bread a particular favorite in our home. It wasn't overpowering though. I decided to divide the dough into six small balls and bake them as sandwich rolls. We should have made the rolls a little bigger, but they made for a delicious lunch anyway!
Ingredients: Organic whole grain spelt flour, brow sugar, turbinado sugar, sea salt, and organic flavor.

Wholey Wheat For this bread mix, we decided to keep it simple. Since the recipe called for honey again, we tried it was plain old  bread and butter. (Well, my husband pulled out the Greek yogurt for his.) Just as my coworker had assured me, this bread is just as delicious all alone as it is in the other ways we used it.
Ingredients: Organic whole grain wheat flour, brow sugar, turbinado sugar, sea salt, and organic flavor
Although we aren't kosher in this household, these bread mixes are definitely something we will continue to look out for in stores. We really enjoyed them and feel confident recommending them to our readers for the holidays. We're thinking of creating the braided bread for our family Thanksgiving!

Disclaimer: As always our reviews are our own, honest opinions and may differ from yours. We are appreciative to Tribes-A-Dozen for allowing us to review their products!

  1. Bread, bread mixes, dough and pretty much all things bread are my guilty pleasure, I just don't enjoy all the work of creating such amazing-ness. I of course am going to have to have a box or 12 of Tribes.

  4. This is definitely a product I'd like to have on hand for my Winter baking. Although there's no store near me that carries it, thank goodness for Amazon. Thanks for sharing.
