What's better after a long work week than coming home to a box from Sugar Bowl Bakery waiting for you on your front porch? My family first discovered Sugar Bowl Bakery through a conversation with a friend. When we mentioned that we are planning an upcoming trip to San Fransisco, she immediately started raving about brownie bites and Madeleines from Sugar Bowl Bakery. Since my husband and I have been so eager to try them, we couldn't get the box open fast enough to taste their Madeleines! So how were they? In a word-Amazing!
These french cake cookies are an interesting mix of soft and crunchy. The outline of each cookie is baked exactly right, so that you get a nice crisp edge, while biting into a soft, but firm middle. They have just the right amount of sweetness to them, too. My husband and I had them with milk the first night, and coffee and tea the next morning. If you like to dunk your cookies, these is a great one! I have to admit, we had trouble putting them away once we started eating them. I think it's because they are made with real butter. There's a velvety taste with each bite. We plan to buy these Madeleines and pair them with their Petite Palmeirs for our dinner party next weekend. We haven't tried the Petite Palmeirs yet, but they look delicious!
Ready to try Sugar Bowl Bakery desserts? Surprisingly, these cookies can be found in stores all over the country. We've seen them at World Market, Safeway, Walgreens, and Costco. Check out the full list to find a store near you.

As always, our reviews are our own, honest opinions and may differ from yours. We are appreciative of Sugar Bowl Bakery for allowing us to review their Madeleines.
