When I hear chickpea, I automatically think hummus. Not so with The Good Bean products. They’ve taken the Desi chickpea and created four flavorful roasted snacks with major benefits. They are low-fat, gluten-free, nut-free, cholesterol-free, low in carbs, low glycemic index, and contain protein, anti-oxidants and fiber equal to two cups of broccoli! This translates to a healthy heart and more energy. With a list like this, you’re probably wondering how they taste…
Smoky Chili & Lime- at first taste we noticed a strong lime flavor, but soon after the smoky chili flavor hits you. It’s got a Spanish paprika and a Mexican chipotle mix which gives it quite a kick. My husband likes these the best.
Sea Salt- I’ve said it before, I love all things sea salt. Warning, these are really salty! I took them to work to share with my coworkers. Sea salt lovers ate them in scoopfuls, while others found they could only eat a few before they were satisfied. The texture and taste of chickpeas really stands out in this flavor.
Sweet Cinnamon- Sumatra cinnamon and a hint of vanilla are used in this flavor. I absolutely love the sweet cinnamon chickpeas because they taste like dessert without all of the calories. I took The Good Bean’s suggestion and mixed them in with my yogurt—delicious! My husband used them as a topping to his ice cream and found them to be just as good.
Cracked Pepper-Seasoned with black pepper, white pepper, and a sprinkle of sea salt, the cracked pepper flavor is intense. My family likes them as a stand-alone snack, but they were a bit much for me, so I sprinkled them over our dinner salads. It added a really nice twist to an otherwise basic salad.
The Good Bean also offers Fruit and No-Nut Bars which are gluten-free, hexan-free, and are non GMO. I was surprised that they taste so sweet, considering they are made primarily of chickpeas. Here’s what they offer:
Apricot and Coconut Bar- made with roasted chickpeas, tart pieces of unsulphured apricot, toastedcoconut and white chocolate, it’s very sweet and filling. It’s a great source of fiber and protein and kept me from snacking throughout the work day.

Chocolate Berry- My favorite, I highly recommend it! It’s made of chickpeas, dark chocolate, cranberries, cherries, and blueberries. The tartness and sweetness balance each other out well.
Fruit and Seeds Trail Mix-made with pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, roasted chickpeas, sweetened with pineapple juice to cut the tartness, and a little orange zest. It’s high in fiber and you can tell because it is very filling.
