The holidays is synonomous with wrapping in many households, so how can we make it easier? Westcott Scissors Mouse! When Shoplet.com announced that they were now carrying Westcott Scissors Mouse, I couldn't wait to try it.
I find measuring and cutting the wrapping paper to wrap gifts a bit of a hassle. The Scissor Mouse cuts the paper fast, easily, and safely.
I was a bit nervous about the Scissor Mouse cutting things other than the wrapping paper, so I tried it on one of my rugs first. I rolled out the wrapping paper, measured out the size I would need for my first gift, and then gave it a try. Here's how to use it:
1. Roll your Scissor Mouse to the edge of the paper.
2. The paper should slide between the paper guide and the underside of the Scissor Mouse.
3. Apply slight pressure and slide your Scissor Mouse forward to cut it.
That's all it took! I found it super easy to use and the size of it fit easily into my hand, so I felt like I had control over it as I used it. You can also make long, wavy cuts with it, but I haven't had a need for that yet. I can see it coming in really handy for crafts.
If you're looking for traditional scissors, I also really liked the Titanium Bonded 8" Non-stick Straight Scissors because they are really comfortable to use and very smooth as you use them. The packaging advertises superior adhesive resistance, which we had no problems with and they claim to stay sharper longer. One of my favorite things about any product that offers it is the life time warranty!
Little ones love to help wrap presents. It's important to give them safe scissors to use if they are going to partake in the fun of gift wrapping. The Westcott Kids Scissors with Microban protection (antimicrobial) is a nice choice from Shoplet.com. We have a yellow pair with a blunt tip for ages 4 and up that we really like. I'd also like to recommend these for the classroom! The handles are infused with Microban protection to inhibit the growth of bacterial odors. A huge plus when kids are sharing anything!
