One of the sweetest gifts we're excited to give this year is the Charlie Brown Christmas Recordable Book from Hallmark. It takes one of our all time favorite Christmas movies and allows us to record it with our own voices so that we can "read" it to our nephews even though we live far away. I love the idea of the boys opening this book on Christmas Day and feeling like we are there with them.
Recording each page is really easy to do! The book has Voice Save Technology which allows you to safely record, save, and play back your recordings. This is especially helpful for us because we flubbed the words on a page or two and had to give it a second try to get it just right! What's extra cool about this technology is that even if you have to change the batteries, the recording is still saved in the book.
The book comes with a removable sleeve with the instructions of how to record your story, save it, and play it back. We needed a Phillips head screw driver to open the battery compartment, which is were the lock and unlock recording switch is. When you press record, it prompts you, so that you know when to start reading. When you are finished recording the page, you hit the stop button and it plays the page back to you so that you can be sure you are happy with it. Switch it back to lock when you've recorded the whole book and you're good to go! The steps are super easy and when you are finished, you can remove the directions sleeve so that it's ready to be given to someone special.
I absolutely love this book, but Hallmark has a few other choices as well that may suit your holiday gift giving. Check out "The Night Before Christmas", "All the Ways I Love You", and "Frosty the Snowman" recordable story books as well!
