Review: Crispy Green Freeze Dried Fruit Snacks #grabandgosnack

I'm always on the look out for easy ways to add healthy choices to lunches or snack time. When I heard about Crispy Green Freeze Dried Fruit Snacks, I wanted to give them a try to see if our family would like them!

Crispy Green Freeze Dried Fruit Snacks are real fruit slices with natural fiber and nutrients without preservatives, fat, or cholesterol. They're also low in calories and certified kosher by OU as well! I wanted to know what the process was in making these snacks to be sure they were truly healthy and this is some of the information I found directly from their company:

One full package of Fruitzios Apples and Strawberries

"The finest fruit is frozen and placed in a drying chamber, where heat and vacuum are applied to evaporate the water while the fruit remains frozen. The process is complete when more than 99% of the water has been removed. Normally it takes about 10-15 pounds of fresh fruit to produce one pound of freeze-dried fruit."

My husband's favorite, Crispy Asian Pears!

I enjoyed learning a little more about how they make these freeze-dried fruits, but I liked taste testing them even more! We tried two different lines, the Crispy Green Crispy Fruit and the Fruitzio Freeze Dried Fruit Snacks. Both had an interesting texture to them, soft, but crunchy at the same time, strange as that may sound. We can each easily eat one package ourselves if we aren't mixing them with anything else. My husband decided they would taste great broken up and sprinkled on top of bran flakes and he was right. They were delicious! I still prefer to eat them just as they are, but you may like them mixed in your yogurt or ice cream, in a favorite muffin or cookie mix, or trail mix for a healthy addition to your food. They make a great grab and go snack for kids as well.

Crispy Green Crispy Fruit comes in the following varieties (55 calories or less per serving):
  • Crispy Apples
  • Crispy Bananas (my favorite!)
  • Crispy Pears
  • Crispy Pineapples
  • Crispy Mangoes (new)
Fruitzio Freeze Dried Fruit Snacks are light, sweet, and crunchy, with a little natural sugar added to them. They are now available in:
  • Apples and Strawberries
  • Strawberries
  • Apricots (new)
  • Peaches (new)
