Reach/Rembrandt Dental Care Recommendations

My husband and I are both coffee and tea drinkers. As much as we love it, we don’t like the staining that happens when we drink it. In an average day, we consume a minimum of two to three cups each. Even when I use a straw, I still feel like my teeth look less white than they used to. I asked our dentist about whitening treatments that his office offered, but it was really expensive! As a solution, we tried Reach and Rembrandt dental hygiene products because it was much cheaper than anything our dentistry offered. I’m going to give you a run-down on all of the products we used and what are reactions are so far.

#1-Reach Total Care Plus Whitening Floss: I don’t know if anyone else is as finicky about their dental floss as I am, but if so, you will love this floss! It’s flat ribbon floss, which has a lot of elastic in it, so it doesn’t break or shred easily. It glides between my teeth without hurting my gums, too. It’s thicker than other floss, which I like because it does a better job of removing plaque. Some floss leaves wax residue after I used it. With the Reach Total Care Plus Whitening there were no wax flakes. As far as the whitening goes, I’ve only used it for about a week, so I can’t say my teeth look much different yet. However, I like this floss so much that I would use it regardless of the whitening abilities.

#2-Reach Total Care + Whitening Toothbrush: This toothbrush aims to whiten teeth and remove stains using it’s CaCo3 Micro-whitening bristles. I’ve used it this week as well and it’s soft, but flexible. It’s really easy to reach your molars in the back of your mouth and feel like you’re getting the right angle. The head is tapered, so it doesn’t poke you in the mouth like some others do. Overall, it’s a quality toothbrush and does the job of making my teeth look and feel cleaner.

#3-Rembrandt I and Rembrandt D: Both of these toothpastes were created by a cosmetic dentist. I decided to go with the Rembrandt Intense Stain (I). It removes stains and restores enamel. I like the mint flavor and I did notice that my teeth looked brighter than earlier in the week. I think I may take this to work with me and use it throughout the day, to fight the tea stains a little more.

Meanwhile, my husband tried Rembrandt Deeply White+Peroxide (D). There are two flavors, fresh mint and winter mint. He went for winter mint. The difference between this toothpaste and others is that it’s the first and only all-in-one fluoride toothpaste with an active dental peroxide. It’s the same stuff cosmetic dentists use. It’s supposed to go below the surface as well as on the surface to whiten. We easily noticed a difference in his teeth after Day 3. I’m planning to try his beginning next week.

#4-Rembrandt Deeply White 2 Hour Whitening Kit: This kit was used by my husband, who has tried quite a few whitening kits over the past two years. The kit comes with trays that fill with whitening gel and insert into your mouth. There’s a little prep time before using this, but nothing difficult.  The total process was 2 hours. However, you apply it in four 20 minute sessions, with a 10 minute break in between. When all was said and done, his teeth looked really white.  He preferred this kit in comparison to the strips that you stick and fold onto your teeth.

Overall, we had a lot of fun trying a new regiment and were both happy that we found new products we each like. It’s a new motivator for us to pay attention to our dental care and keep our teeth as healthy and white as possible. J

  1. Oh my gosh.... talk about staining. I have been mixing my own herbs. Instead of putting them into those plastic capsules, I have been just chewing and swallowing. Not good. When I went to the dentist for my last check up, they had to spend extra time cleaning my teeth. I would like something that cleans them in between dental visits. I am going to go check this out.

    1. You may like the Rembrandt-I then, because it's supposed to improve your enamel and whiten, too. Anything that helps fight the herb staining! I'd love to hear if it works for ya. :D
